Here, I will show one easy and cheap method to shim a guitar nut if you need it to sit higher in the nut slot. Get a pad of sticky notes. Those things you write on and remove from the pad to stick on things.

I am just lucky that I get tags from the VA every time some medicine or medical equipment is delivered.
