BJP & PM Narendra Modi's Victory in the 2024 Indian General Election - My Opinion
In this video, I share my thoughts on the 2024 Indian General Election where Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) secured a victory. Held from April 19 to June 1, 2024, these elections were one of the largest democratic events in history, with over 968 million eligible voters and a record-breaking 642 million participants, including 312 million women.
Prime Minister Modi, after completing two terms, ran for a third consecutive term. Despite facing criticism for various issues, including hate speech, EVM malfunctions, and alleged political suppression, the BJP managed to win 240 seats. Although this was a reduction from their previous 303 seats, the BJP, along with its coalition the National Democratic Alliance (NDA), secured a total of 293 seats in the Lok Sabha.
The primary opposition, the Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance (INDIA), formed by the Indian National Congress (INC) and regional parties, performed better than expected, securing 234 seats, with the Congress winning 99 of those.
