The State Minister of Cooperatives Gume Ngobi was on the spot before the commission of inquiry into land matters as he answered to allegations of colluding with a surveyor to defraud a foreign investor.
Ngobi is accused of fraudulently giving away 25 acres of land to Favourite Enterprise Limited even though he knew that this was the residual land of Wairaka Polytechnic School under the stewardship of the Uganda Land Commission.
As Sheila Nduhukire reports, Ngobi was tasked to explain the circumstances under which he received an alleged bribe worth 5 million shillings from the surveyor for his role in the land sale.
