Saltwater Fishing Tampa is all about Fishing and Having Fun!
Deep Sea Fishing the Gulf of Mexico 50-60 miles Offshore Catching Giant American Red Snapper, Fire Truck Sized Red Grouper and Monster Mangroves in 160 Feet of water.
Went on a 12 hr Fishing Charter with Offshore Addicts out of Madeira Beach, FL. Captain Keith had us drifting over some Great bottom in 160 Feet of water and the first stop we hooked up with Red Grouper once the bait hit bottom. We were Primarily bottom fishing with cut bait. Mostly frozen sardines, Boston mackerel, threadfins and some live pinfish we caught about 10 miles out.
The Red Snapper bite was Awesome! We were getting doubles and also broke off some Big Red Snapper! Lots of Beautiful Lane Snapper filled the icebox as well as 2 Monster Mangrove Snappers.
It’s best to use the lever drag reel with braided or mono line and be sure to use fluorocarbon leaders. The water was clear blue and you could see the fish coming up from 30-40 feet down. We Would Yell “ COLOR!” "I see color!”
That meant a nice BIG fish was coming up from the depths and we were all waiting to see what kind of fish it was as it got closer and closer to the surface. That was the existing part! The suspense of watching a BIG Snapper or Grouper coming up made the whole trip worth it. A Deep Sea Fishing Trip of a Lifetime!
Red Snapper season was open for 54 days this year in the Gulf in Florida and after a couple of weather related cancellations, we finally made it out. And it was worth it!
The best part: Fishing and Having fun! We had a Great Time fishing with Captain Keith and will plan another trip next year or possibly this Fall when the Gag Grouper start moving closer in.

Saltwater Fishing Tampa videos are about Changing fishing strategies & tactics to match conditions and that’s exactly what I did. Didn’t count on getting stormed out, but that’s fishing!
Watch the video and see the techniques I used for hooking the fiddler crabs and shrimp on the knocker rigs. Knocker rigs keep you from getting hung up in rocky bottom and for me, are the best way to put fish in the fish box.
You will learn how to catch more fish using these simple and easy to learn proven techniques for catching more saltwater fish. Coming home with a cooler of fish instead of fish stories is much better! Try these techniques and they will help you.
Also learn that using the correct leader material such as, Seaguar Blue Label 100% fluorocarbon leaders which are almost invisible to fish, will get you more fish hook ups. Many more!
Learn by going with lighter braid main line and lighter leader material will also create more fish hookups by making the line almost invisible and your bait appear more natural.
The links below will help with where I buy my bait, the costs and benefits of buying bait vs catching your own. It depends how fast you want to get out on the water and the availability of bait.
Also Foam Off will keep your bait alive by taking the ammonia out of the water that starves the bait of oxygen
And finally, again, Seaguar fluorocarbon leaders, Blue Label. That’s all I use. Worth every penny! Using these leaders will change your fish catch, for the better.
