Pesticide Action Network Europe and Friends of the Earth Europe organised an event for the representatives of the EU Member States in charge of the Sustainable Use Regulation proposal - an interactive and science-based coffee discussion to present and discuss positive examples of Integrated Pest Management and its implementation.
The Sustainable Use Regulation is a crucial opportunity to reduce the over-reliance on synthetic pesticides in Europe. Empowering farmers to minimize pesticide use and associated risks, through the adoption of Integrated Pest Management, is essential for the successful transition toward agroecological food production systems. Farmers throughout Europe have been implementing IPM methods for many years and are succeeding in achieving good outcomes, both in yields and profits, while protecting the health of citizens and reversing the loss of biodiversity.
