Had a custom cover made for the new Auto Charge Pro to keep it cleaner as it sits on my reloading bench that just happens to get used for much more than reloading.
I also busted out the original box for my Auto Charge that presented me with a surprise that I had TOTALLY forgotten. I'm a box keeper (more OCD) as when I buy used stuff it's always a big plus to have the original box(es) included so I tend to save boxes as well. My intent was to box up the Auto Charge and say "see you later" as opposed to "good bye".
Upon opening the box, there was an invoice from Hornady from 3/2015. Apparently I had issues with my original Auto Charge (can't even remember what they were) and Hornady replaced it with a new one. That essentially means I'm ZERO for THREE (0/3) when it comes to Hornady digital scales working out of the box for me...
1. Original Bench Scale wouldn't calibrate - replaced in 2012
2. Auto Charge (can't recall issue) - replaced in 2015
3. Auto Charge Pro (wouldn't zero/calibrate - self fixed in 2020
Considering all that has happened with each digital scale, I am COMPLETELY satisfied with both the product and Hornady support. We all know where this stuff is manufactured and the concept/guise of quality control is more myth than reality. Great products, unfortunately some hit/miss on the one you may get.
My Bench Scale has been ROCK SOLID since 2013 and that is my go to scale for just measuring.
My Auto Charge has worked since 2015 and been very consistent on trickle measures with the 3D printed dispensing tube nozzles.
I'm hoping my Auto Charge Pro will last as long as it's predecessor....another reason I'm packing it up for a "see ya" instead of a "good bye".
