We drove 1 hour 30 mins from Salou to Tibidabo amusement park at the top of mount Tibidabo in Barcelona on Easter Sunday. And then waited over an hour to get into the car park which we had pre-booked....not the best start to the day and it didn't get much better!!!
The park was unfortunately EXTREMELY busy on the day we visited - we knew this would be the case with it being a holiday weekend, but we weren't quite prepared for the chaotic car parking situation, and the endless queues for what few rides were open, queues for food, queues for a table to eat food, queues for toilets etc etc
The park is historic, and because we're massive theme park nerds, we have always really wanted to visit! Despite visiting Barcelona as a city 3 times before, we have never been able to visit Tibidabo as we've always been too early in the year / out of school holidays.
Unfortunately, the steep entry price and the disorganisation in the park / lack of queue times / fast pass / difficulty of mobility around the park with small children, and with the copious amounts of rude staff we encountered, we won't be in a hurry to return here. We worked out that for 132 euros we spent on entry and parking, we actually had only 10 individual rides BETWEEN us. This is ludicrous as the rides were essentially toddler rides/big wheel/carousel. And even as we left towards 7pm, the park (which was open to 9pm) was still admitting huge amounts of people and the car park was still full with cars hunting for spaces! You can tell from the abrupt ending of exploring the park during the video, we had seen enough.
This being said the views were truly amazing, and the location of the park on the mountain side was really very special. Just a shame we couldn't make more of it and get more value for money.
