This is a recent digitization of my first “published” guitar transcription that appeared in Guitar World magazine July 1983.

It’s a challenging, fast paced, classical showcase called “Little Kids” by Steve Morse, accompanied by Allen Sloan on violin from the Dixie Dregs’ l.p – “What If”. Guitar TAB is included this time around using Finale notation software. The audio is courtesy of Finale and GuitarPro6 by Arobas.
It’s interesting to note that in Ken Scott’s “Abbey Road to Ziggy Stardust” he writes:
“There’s a track on “What If” called “Little Kids” that’s almost classical in nature. It’s just a nylon- string guitar and violin; I adore this piece of music. We actually recorded it the way I mix. We’d play on two tracks until a short section was perfect, then I’d play it back and they’d pick it up for another short section on two other tracks. Then we’d to back to the original tracks and carry on this way until the end of the song. I know how we recorded it, but when I listen to it today, it’s seamless. I can’t hear the section breaks at all. It was that striving for perfection, both in timing, pitch, and as far as we were concerned, feel, that caused us to try the process.”
