The Cham village in Chau Doc is struggling to retain their ancient customs as the Cham people have been reduced to a thriving kingdom in the central part of Vietnam, to a few sparse communities. The largest of the Cham communities is also the largest concentration of native muslims. One way they retain their identity and culture is by allowing tourists to come and experience their culture first hand. This is similar to the living history museums in America, however this is no museum, this is their daily life.
