Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad Sangma met Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi on August 8 and discussed a range of issues of significant importance for the state. Among the slew of issues discussed was ILP, inclusion of the Garo and Khasi languages in the 8th schedule, and talks with Hynniewtrep National Liberation Council (HNLC), the insurgent group that has Meghalaya's Khasi and Jayantia hills region as its stronghold.
