On this desert plain where no temples had ever been built, a Pharaoh named Akhenaten brought forth a revolutionary spiritual vision. Marking this new theological frontier are what is known as Boundary Stelae, and like modern signposts, they are some of the first proclamations they are some of the first proclamations in history for the belief in monotheism. Here, Akhenaten makes an offering to the sun disc called Aten, his only god, and then is revitalized along with his family by its rays of solar life force.
This is a glimpse of famous Amarna art style, which is different from Ancient Egypt’s traditional design.
