The devil(Al Pacino) makes a final appearance even in the final scene of the movie where he repeats once again the vanity is his favorite sin. (Vanity was the sin that created the devil due to his envy to God's abilities and his excessive self pride which led him to think that he is better than God. Hence this is the reason why it is his favorite sin.)
