John Prine and Iris DeMent perform ‘In Spite of Ourselves’ on the Late Late Show.

Introducing John Prine and Iris DeMent, Pat Kenny says,

"We have two of the best voices in country music today."

‘In Spite of Ourselves’ is the title track of the eponymously titled album released in 1999.

The album features duets with various well-known female folk and country vocalists including Iris DeMent, Lucinda Williams, Connie Smith, Trisha Yearwood, Emmylou Harris, Melba Montgomery, Patty Loveless, his wife Fiona Prine and Irish singer Dolores Keane.

Pat Kenny describes the record as,

John Prine and Iris DeMent were in Dublin to perform a sell-out show at the Olympia Theatre.
