As a group fitness instructor you have probably felt like you've taught some bad classes. Have you ever left the studio feeling like it was an epic failure?
How do you recover and not let a bad class bring you down and chip away at your confidence? I'm sharing three strategies for bouncing back so you can turn it around and not feel defeated or drained.
1) Accept that you will fail. You aren't perfect and you will teach bad classes. You will have off days and sometimes its not even within your control. So accept that it happens. Say "Yeah that class sucked and it is what it is"
2). Then immediately shift to LEARNING. Try not to dwell on the epic fail of a class but rather focus on what could be learned. What can you learn about yourself? What can you learn about your teaching abilities? Also What can I learn about the students and the environment. And finally what can you learn from all of this.
3) Take action - not just action steps on how you can improve based on what you learned but also take some action steps to elevate and improve your mood and energy.
If you want to be the best group fitness instructor you have to learn and grow. Understand you will have your bad days. But its not about you. Its about the students in your class. Be of services to those and your next class is going to be amazing!
