The choice of strategy and type of engagement is dependent on your context” some contexts require the project to demonstrate the intervention, some may require significant hand holding and others require clear communication of the investment matrices. Your context may be thin market, highly competitive market and greenfield, all of these determines the choice of approach and tool.

c. The role you play as an economic development professional depends on the first two factors: timing and context. The most appropriate role to play if you are doing private sector

engagement at the beginning of a project is one of a facilitator, investment opportunities researcher, investment evaluator. However, if you are doing the engagement after you have successfully piloted an intervention idea, your role changes to investment promotion professional.
