You'd think after covering Doom way back in Season 1 of ADG there'd be nothing to really say about its sequel, given that the sequel is just more of the same... But Doom II really is a very strong sequel to the original, doubling much of the content (except weapons and items) and adding in some great enemy designs.
Also, I'm aware those are rockets being fired by the Revenants, not eyeballs. To me, they LOOK like eyeballs and it seems freakier and more in line with the rest of the game that way. :P

* I personally recommend the Doomsday Engine source port over DOSBox if you wanna play the game on modern systems to get all kinds of enhancements to the original game. Here's a link so you can grab a copy of this. Note that all it needs to run are the WAD files from the game, since that's where all the levels and graphics and such are stored, so it even works with the files from the Steam release: [ Ссылка ]
* When the adverts for Daikatana hit the scene, I think everyone wanted to punch John Romero... Ridiculous advertisements aside though, the guy's got some serious talent... and a lot of hair. :D
* Who else noticed I slipped up and called the game "Doom" at the start of the game stats? :P
* Recording the fight between the Cyberdemon and Spider Mastermind was an afterthought and I didn't have a save to take me straight there, which is why it's obvious I had been using cheat codes to get back there to record it. ;)
* One major tip I should give you guys, and something I think is probably one of the only negative points about this game, is that many of the levels require you to abuse the fact that enemies will get mad at each other and shoot each other down, as there's typically not enough ammo lying around to be able to take all of the enemies out on your own volition. This leads to several sections where the best thing to do is get everything shooting at each other, then just hide behind some walls until the commotion stops... which can take several minutes and is boring. :P
* There actually ARE water textures in the original Doom, they just show up very sparingly and thus it's easy to forget they're there. I do recall having water struggles with Doom mapping though... might've just been a bug with the mapping software I was using at the time.
