A polarized sheet reduces the sun's glare by filtering out light waves that vibrate in specific directions. Sunlight reflecting off surfaces like water or roads is predominantly horizontally polarized, creating a strong glare. When you tilt the polarized sheet vertically, it blocks these horizontally polarized light waves, significantly reducing the glare. Conversely, if the sheet is tilted horizontally, it aligns with the horizontally polarized light, allowing more glare to pass through and thus making the glare more noticeable.
