After system check at Lotus Cars Hethel test track on July 31 and August 02, plus 120km run on august 06 by Johnny Herbert on the Silverstone South circuit, the Lotus 102C fitted with the V12 Isuzu P799WE engine is tested against other F1 car (Ayrton Senna - McLaren & Mauricio Gugelmin - Leyton House) on the Silverstone GP circuit on august 07.
Herbert run for 150 km and his best time was about 1 minute 30 seconds. Senna's lap time in the McLaren-Honda was around 1:24.7 and Gugelmin's in the Leyton House-Ilmor was around 1:25.4 (on qualifying tyres) on the same day.
This is the only test of the Isuzu P799WE V12 against other F1.
Never intented to powered an F1, Isuzu presented the COMO grand sport utility at the 1991 Tokyo Motor Show that was intented to be powered by the P799WE. This prototype never went into production.
