The Overlander DVD features a passenger and trackside perspective of Tranz Scenic's Overlander rail service that previously ran between Wellington and Auckland up until 24 June 2012 when it was replaced by the Northern Explorer service. We see the stunning scenery that The Overlander is fortunate enough to run through from the observation deck and lounge as well as several locomotive engineer only views along the journey. A small selection of shots of The Overlander interior are included and topped off with some trackside shots of the train running along the North Island Main Trunk railway line. Along with all the views we take in the expected rolling hills and farmland, the crossings of the viaducts and the long dark tunnels. This DVD was made to farewell The Overlander service which was a daily visitor to many towns of New Zealand and a service that will be missed by many.

The DVD running time is 112 minutes and all footage is filmed entirely in widescreen with stereo soundtrack. Additional Content: 7 minute slideshow of various Overlander photos.
