The Educational Trip Organized by Maa Saradamoyee Mission Vidyalaya, Narendrapur
On 26th December, 2024, Maa Saradamoyee Mission Vidyalaya, Narendrapur, organized an enriching educational trip for students from the Playgroup to Class VIII with the permission of respected secretary of the institution Revered Srimat Swami Shastrajnananda ji. The objective
was to introduce the students to the spiritual, academic, and agricultural activities of the Ramakrishna Mission institutions at Narendrapur and inspire them with its values of holistic development.
Visit to Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama Mandir
The trip began with a visit to the sacred Ramakrishna Mission Mandir, where the students offered their prayers and respect to the holy trio by performing sashtanga namaskaram and observing a 15 minutes silence. The students were immersed in the spiritual ambiance of prayers and chants. Teachers shared the teachings of Sri Ramakrishna, Ma Sarada Devi, and Swami Vivekananda, emphasizing their relevance in daily life.
Lok Shiksha Parishad The next stop was the Lok Shiksha Parishad, a significant unit of the Mission dedicated to rural development and adult education. Teachers explained its role in empowering the rural
community through vocational training and educational outreach.
Maa Sarada Hall Students were then taken to Maa Sarada Hall, a multipurpose auditorium that serves as a hub for cultural and academic events. They learned about the various programs and activities held
here to nurture talent and celebrate values.
Agricultural Field and Activities
The Agricultural field was another highlight of the trip. Students observed various agricultural activities, including organic farming practices, and learned about sustainable agriculture. They explored the lush green fields and witnessed how the Mission integrates education with practical
life skills.
Visit to the Cow Shed (Goshala)
At the cow shed, students were introduced to the concept of ethical animal husbandry. They saw how the cows were cared for and understood the importance of dairy farming in supporting the Mission's self-sustaining ecosystem. It was an enlightening experience where the students
saw how the calves and the cows were kept with utmost care and respect which helped inculcate a sense of understanding and respect for all living creatures.
Monks’ Quarters
The students visited the Monks’ Quarters, where they offered their respects to the monks by performing sashtanga namaskaram. The aim was to educate the children about the simple and spiritual lives of the monks who have dedicated their lives to service and spirituality. The teachers explained the principles of renunciation and service that guide the lives of these monks, inspiring students to lead lives rooted in values.
Visit to the senior section
The Senior Section of the Ramakrishna Mission Vidyalaya, Narendrapur, caters to students from Classes 8 to 12 and is renowned for its holistic approach to education. It combines academic excellence with value-based learning, emphasizing discipline, character-building, and all-round
development. The section is equipped with modern facilities, including state-of-the-art laboratories, a well-stocked library, and extensive sports infrastructure. Students are encouraged to participate in co-curricular activities alongside rigorous academics, fostering intellectual growth and life skills.
The day concluded with a reflection session, where students shared their experiences and expressed their gratitude for this unique opportunity. The trip was a perfect blend of education,
inspiration, and spirituality, leaving a lasting impression on young minds. The initiative by Maa Saradamoyee Mission Vidyalaya, Narendrapur was highly appreciated by parents, students, and the school community for its thoughtful approach to holistic education.

The visit allowed us to experience the serene and spiritual environment of the Mandir, Old Shrine, and Monks’ Quarters, along with the enriching educational and agricultural centers.
