In this episode of Third Eye, Senior Journalist and Founder The Public India, Anand Vardhan Singh talks LIVE to the viewers about the upcoming Uttar Pradesh Assembly Elections in 2022 where Samajwadi Party President Akhilesh Yadav seems to be heading towards making a grand alliance (Maha Gathbandhan) as he closed the alliance deal with Jayant Chaudhary, President of Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) and Krishna Patel, the President of Apna Dal (K) or Apna Dal (Kamerawadi). Reportedly, Sanjay Singh of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has also met Akhilesh Yadav and it is speculated that AAP may also join hands with the Samajwadi Party for UP Polls 2022.
Akhilesh Yadav has been gaining strength for quite some time as he was able to bag Om Prakash Rajbhar of SBSP, an ally of BJP in the 2017 Elections but he ended his alliance with BJP and joined hands with Akhilesh Yadav in Azamgarh. Rajbhar has an impact on OBC votes in the eastern part of Uttar Pradesh and Jayant Chaudhary has the clear support of farmers after the farmers’ movement. Since Yogi Adityanath will be facing the anti-incumbency of his tenure and Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his central government, it is no good news for BJP that the opposition is polarised with Akhilesh Yadav.
