Schizophrenia is a mental illness that about 24.5 million people live with. A person with schizophrenia experiences hallucinations, hearing voices in their head, depression, paranoia, anxiety, and other unpleasant things. These things can lead to abnormal behavior where the schizophrenic may say, write, or do things that make no sense. About 50% of the people affected with schizophrenia attempt suicide, and about 10% succeed.
