The best way to hike the Scafell’s is from the lovely Eskdale Valley. Summit Scafell Pike via the Little Narrowcove Gully and Scafell via the infamous Lords Rake. A 3D Fly-Through of the Route.
The route is moderate to perhaps difficult but only because of Lords Rake. An alternate route to Scafell via Foxes Tarn Gully is a little easier. Or you could miss out Scafell entirely and come back via Mickledore and the Cam Spout Gully. Whatever way you hike it, this is the connoisseurs route up Scafell Pike and takes in some of wildest and most beautiful scenery in the Lake District.
Unfortunately the chock stone at the top of Lords Rake collapsed on 31st July 2016, the year after I filmed this. Its remnants now add to the boulder field littering the Gully.
