Hey everyone, in this custom paint tutorial I will show you how I apply LiME LiNE Leafing. Understand that not all leaf spins the same. Some brands will actually dull out the silver or gold leaf when spinning (engine turn). I have tested dozens of different leaf manufacturers to make sure that LiME LiNE has the best and most brilliant spin. When applying the LiME LiNE sizing glue be sured to apply light and even on a clean smooth surface preferably sanded clearcoat. Overcoating with glue will cause unnecessary film build and will create a texture that will affect the final look. Remember spray light and keep the surface smooth. *NOTE YOU CAN GLUE AND LEAF TWO LAYERS OF LEAF BEFORE UNMASKING IF YOU ARE HAVE HAD PROBLEMS WITH TEAR THROUGH WHEN SPINNING. THIS WILL ALLOW THE BOTTOM LAYER OF LEAF TO HIDE THE TOP LAYER TARE THROUGHS IF THEY HAPPEN. Be sure to press down all of your gold or silver leaf edges if you do not plan to pinstripe the edges. Do not tape directly to silver or gold leaf! Use the LiME LiNE leafing roller to ensure good contact between the sizing glue and the leafing. Burnishing the leaf will help push in those edges and gives the silver or gold leaf a uniform look for a brilliant looking spin. Unmask before spinning so you can repair any edges. This also will prevent your turning pad from wearing out prematurely. When engine turning (spun leaf) keep a 30-40% overlap. Burnish the leaf with the LiME LiNE brush tool one more time and your ready for clearcoat. I hope this helps you all.
