(20 Aug 1962) Mont Blanc, Europe's highest mountain, over 15,780 feet high, has been a challenge to man ever since he started conquering the high places of the world. But the biggest challenge of all has been overcome: to cut a tunnel from one side to the other, seven and a quarter miles long. For nearly 3 years, Italian and French miners have faced discomfort and hazards, drilling their way through from opposite sides. Now, at last, they have achieved their aim.
