In a sign that the Congress is getting increasingly cornered within the future of the INDIA bloc, RJD founder Lalu Prasad Yadav, NCP founder Sharad Pawar and many others have endorsed Trinamool Congress chief Mamata Banerjee's name as someone who can lead the Opposition alliance effectively. The remarks over INDIA bloc's leadership play out against the backdrop of the ongoing winter session of parliament. Differences have cropped up on the strategy the Opposition must follow to corner the Modi government in parliament, with parties other than the Congress insisting they want to raise meaningful issues that have resonance with voters. But if we were to do a SWOT analysis of who is a better candidate to lead the INDIA alliance - Mamata Banerjee or Rahul Gandhi -- here could be some pointers.
