Tua Pek Kong Temple which can be found near Sitiawan looks out to sea over the Straits of Malacca. You can see a row of giant white stone statues including, Tua Pek Kong himself, flanked by other deities, tigers, lions and monkeys.
There is an attractive landscaped garden with koi ponds, artificial rocks and more statues. A large seated Buddha statue occupies pride of place in the centre of the temple.
There is a tunnel which you can walk through. The tunnel are lined with panels on their containing illustrating scenes from “The Ten Chambers of Hell”, warning sinners of the gruesome fate which awaits them in the next world. The temple was built at a cost of 7.5 million ringgit.
There is no entrance fee or parking fee although donations are most welcome. Tua Pek Kong Temple has become a popular attraction site. Don’t miss to catch the beautiful sunset here.
