A time lapse of the effects of Tenacity Herbicide on Creeping Bentgrass.
My Instructions:
1 - Mix Tenacity at a rate of 1 teaspoon per gallon.
(Don't forget to use non-ionic surfactant)
(I followed surfactant Instructions for quantities)
(I used about 1/4 cup per gallon)
2 - Spray entire area, or only the area you want.
3 - Be generous, Spray until lawn looks wet.
4 - Let Tenacity Dry in sun for two hours.
5 - Continue to mow and water as usual for 21 days.
(undesired grass/weeds will begin to turn white/brown and die)
6 - At 21 days, apply Tenacity again at same rate, to same areas.
7 - Let Tenacity Dry in sun for two hours.
8 - Spread desired turfgrass seed at a HIGH rate.
(you can't have too much seed)
(avoid seed with more than 20% hard/fine fescue)
(I used a long wire rake upside down to work seed into dying grass)
9 - Begin to water every four hours during daytime to allow seeds to begin germinating.
(I set my system to water at 8am - 12pm - 4pm - 8pm)
(Ideally, daytime temps should be no more than 85* for germination)
10 - Water on the 4 hour schedule and mow as usual for 21 days.
11 - At 42 days, apply Tenacity again at same rate, to same areas.
(don't water the morning of this application)
12 - Spread desired turfgrass seed at a HIGH rate.
(you can't have too much seed)
(avoid seed with more than 20% hard/fine fescue)
13 - Continue to water every four hours during daytime to allow seeds to begin germinating.
(I set my system to water at 8am - 12pm - 4pm - 8pm)
(Ideally, daytime temps should be no more than 85* for germination)
14 - Water on the 4 hour schedule and mow as usual for 21 days.
15 - Apply more seed if needed. At this point you should be out of the forest!
- Good Luck!
