The Gauteng Township Economic Development Bill, which was tabled today by Gauteng MEC for Economic Development Parks Tau, has received the thumbs-up from Members of the Provinvial Legislature. The Bill aims to provide a legal mechanism for the promotion and development of the township economy. In its wide implementation, the Bill aims to unleash a Township Partnership Fund for township-based businesses, support the Taxi Rank economy and Backyard Real Estate developments.
