(All product link in bio in amazon storefront) Hey loves I’m back I’ll be posting every Sunday updating you guys on my lash journey! I been lashing for 3 months now and im getting better everyday! in this video you’ll be learning to creating a wispy lash look that requires a bit more skill and creativity compared to other styles, but it's a popular request that can really set your work apart. The key to mastering this technique is practicing your lash mapping, precision in placing the wisps, and ensuring a smooth blend between different lengths and curls. By doing so, you’ll be able to offer clients a stylish, customized look that enhances their natural beauty. How to Create Wispy Lash Extensions for a Beginner Lash Tech
Understand the Wispy Lash Look: Wispy lashes are known for their textured, feathery appearance, with a mix of longer and shorter lashes that create a spiked, fluttery effect. This style mimics the look of strip lashes, with varying lengths to add dimension and drama.
Key Features to this look: The look is characterized by strategically placed longer "spikes" or "wisps" that stand out among shorter, fluffier lashes, giving the lashes a more natural yet voluminous look.
Plan the Lash Map: Start by mapping out where you want to place the longer lashes (the "wisps"). Typically, these are placed in a staggered pattern across the lash line. Common placements are above the pupil and towards the outer corners, but the exact placement can be customized based on the client's eye shape and desired look.
Mark the Wisps: Use a lash mapping pen or stickers to mark the points on the lash line where you’ll place the longer lashes. For example, you might place longer lashes at 10mm, 12mm, 14mm intervals, with shorter lashes in between.
Select the Right Lash Extensions: Choose different lengths of lash extensions for the wisps and the base. For a dramatic look, you might use 10-12mm lashes for the base and 13-15mm lashes for the wisps. You can also mix different curls (e.g., C curl for the base and D curl for the wisps) to add more texture.
Thickness: Use thinner lashes (e.g., 0.05-0.07mm) for the base to keep the lashes lightweight, and slightly thicker ones for the wisps, if desired, to make them stand out.
Isolate and Apply the Lashes: start with the Base Lashes: Begin by applying the base lashes. Use shorter extensions to fill in the lash line, applying them evenly across the entire lash line. This creates a full, dense foundation.
Place the Wisps: Now, apply the longer lashes at the marked points. Isolate the natural lash and place the extension slightly above the other lashes to create that "spiked" effect. Ensure the wisps are well separated and stand out from the surrounding lashes.
Mix and Blend: To ensure the wisps blend naturally, add a few medium-length lashes between the base lashes and wisps. This creates a gradient effect, making the transition from short to long lashes smoother.
Check and Adjust: Step back and check the overall look. Ensure the wisps are evenly spaced and the overall look is balanced. Adjust as needed by adding or removing lashes.
Fluff and Separate: Once all the lashes are applied, gently brush through them with a spoolie to separate any lashes that might have stuck together and to fluff them up. This helps achieve that feathery, wispy effect.
Finishing Touches: Seal the Lashes: Apply a lash sealant if you use one to help the extensions last longer and to keep them looking fresh. This also adds a final touch of gloss to the lashes.
Final Check: Make sure the client’s eyes are comfortable, and that there’s no irritation or sticking. The wispy lashes should feel light and look effortlessly voluminous.
