A croquette is a type of dumpling consisting of either fish, meat, chicken or vegetables, which is breaded and deep-fried; it is served as a side dish, a snack, or fast food worldwide. I have rolled the croquettes in plain flour and then dipped in egg wash before breading it. Another version of it are patties or cutlets in some parts of the world. There are sweet versions too.
Ingredients
- Tuna fish: 340 gms
- Boiled & mashed potatoes: 295-300 gms
- Onions: 2 medium chopped
- Ginger/garlic minced: 2.5 tbsps
- Green chillies: 15 gms
- Cilantro / coriander leaves: a small handful
- Egg - 1
- Vinegar: 1 tsp
- Pepper powder: 1/2 tsp
- Salt: to taste
- spice powder/ garam masala: 1/4 tsp + a pinch
- Bread crumbs- 2 tbsps + for rolling the croquettes
- Flour to dust : 2 tbsps
- Oil - as required
