Acclaimed poet and author #JavierZamora was born in El Salvador in 1990. At the age of 9, he traveled over 3,000 miles from his small town in El Salvador to reunite with his parents in the United States — alone. Zamora’s debut memoir Solito recounts his perilous 9-week journey across Guatemala, Mexico, and the U.S. border. It is Zamora's story, but it's also the story of millions of others who have had no choice but to leave home.
