Imphal, Apr 16 (ANI): A public cycle rally was held at from Kangla Western gate to create awareness for preservation and protection of agricultural lands and promote permaculture. The cycle rally saw the participation of 150 cyclists hailing from different parts of Imphal. The cycle rally will drive across length and breadth of Imphal and will have a technical session at Wangoi village where several resource persons, including from Central Agricultural University, Government of India will deliver talks. Agriculture, being the main occupation of the people of Manipur, contributes a major share to the total state domestic product. Due to increase in the population, the shrinking of agricultural land has become a matter of concern in Manipur.
