The government has released the CPI data. For August 2024. the Consumer Price Index stood at 3.65%. Last month, in July, the CPI stood at 3.54%.
In what could bring relief to consumers, petrol and diesel prices may soon see a reduction if global oil prices continue to stay low, says Oil Secretary Pankaj Jain. The development occurs as India seeks to ramp up crude purchases from cost-effective suppliers like Russia and OPEC+ countries.
