After exploring tons of Pisgah MTB trails over the last year it would be hard to pick a favorite... But Lower Black Mountain checks all the boxes for me! I love the fact that this trail can cater to a wide variety of skill levels and in my opinion is the perfect introduction to Pisgah! The trail starts with a 2 mile climb up thrift cove and while it may take some time, anyone should be able to make the climb as long as they pace themselves. Once the trail starts to descend, expect tons of rhododendron tunnels and fast flowy singletrack with plenty of options to catch some air or ride some natural looking berms built right into the mountain side! The trail has some chunky sections in the middle but if you can keep your speed through them it shouldn't rattle you to death.
After the ride we made our way to the hub for some much needed brews! We luckily got out of the Hub without emptying our bank accounts on new bike components (or a brand new bike!) and had an awesome time hanging out by the waterfall for the rest of the day!
