In this video, I purchased a 1997 Mazda B2300 compact truck from a local car auction and do a few things to restore it and help make it look really good again.
I got very lucky on the condition of this truck with not being able to test drive it before buying it. All around the truck is in excellent well kept condition.
Before buying the truck from the car auction, I made sure to get the Carfax for it and to my surprise saw it as a 1 owner vehicle with lots of maintenance history. Also saw that it was mostly kept in AZ for the last 24 years which made me a lot more confident about it. The truck was donated to a charity by the previous owner before being sent to this auction to be sold off for the charity.
Previous owner of the truck really took care of it and had to have had it garaged or kept covered for the paint to still be as good as it is after 24 years in the blazing hot desert. Also to my surprise, all of the fluids in the truck turned out to be recently changed out and even the tires and battery it came with were purchased new at the end of 2020. All I have to say is thank you to whatever gentleman owned this car previously. They gave me a perfect little truck that needs nothing done to it mechanically.
These little trucks are a dying breed given how big trucks on today’s market are. The mini truck is something I feel will definitely make a comeback. For me, it’s the perfect little utility vehicle for hauling around a dirt bike and quad out to the desert, or moving a couch/furniture. Not ever going to be pulling a horse trailer or hauling around concrete in my truck bed, so don’t see the need for today’s market.
