We have thought about the Arctic Circle for well over a year and in this episode, we cross into it as we continue North toward Tromsø Norway! It is Autumn and getting colder everywhere in northern Europe but we’re getting really cold now! However, we wouldn’t miss this experience as we feel we are literally in the land of the giants! The views from the deck of Sea Rose is constantly putting us in a state of awe. Each turn of the head introduces a new mountain range or cloud-shrouded peaks.
Just south of the artic circle, we take an afternoon to hike up the mountain of Torghatten where we explore the massive tunnel through the mountain that was caused over thousands of years by wind and erosion. Two days later, we cross into the Arctic, which is the areas of our earth north of latitude 66 degrees, 33 minutes North!
