Do You Need a Local Realtor to Buy or Sell?

Do you think your Realtor 'must' live in your neighborhood to be effective? The truth is, they don't! Some agents claim they're the best choice simply because they live nearby, but that doesn’t necessarily make them your top option.
What truly matters is your Realtor's knowledge and experience. A skilled agent will be familiar with all surrounding areas and know the key details: Are there special assessments? What are the HOA requirements? How are the local schools? Are there specific permits or building codes to consider?
Keep in mind, the buyer for your home is likely coming from outside the neighborhood, so you need an agent who can market effectively beyond the local area. Just because you’ve seen the same flyer from a neighborhood agent for years doesn’t mean they’re your best—or only—choice for selling your property at top dollar.
