Eau Thermale Avène’s mission is to take care of all sensitive skin, in particular by protecting it from the sun. At the same time, our brand is also very attentive to respecting the environment.
This commitment attracted the attention of BBC Storyworks and our Skin Protect Ocean Respect project is now part of their #Essentialsfordailylife campaign, which highlights innovative players in the cosmetics sector.
This is why, for the last 10 years, Eau Thermale Avène has endeavoured to reduce the content of sun filters without compromising on excellent UVA and UVB protection efficacy. We choose only non-water-soluble filters and check their ecotoxic potential on marine biodiversity. To do this, we work closely with experts from the Oceanological Laboratory in Banyuls-Sur-Mer, who study the impact of sun filters on the oceans. Studies conducted and published have shown that our Skin Protect Ocean Respect filters are non-toxic on representative species of coral*, phytoplankton** and zooplankton**, thereby respecting marine biodiversity.
But our commitments don’t stop there. In addition to ensuring respect for marine biodiversity, since 2016 we have been committed to the social enterprise PUR Projet through the PUR Corail project, which aims to regenerate coral reefs in Indonesia.
You, too, have a role to play in this commitment. Choosing Eau Thermale Avène Sun Care is making a commitment to protect your skin while respecting the oceans. #EssentialsForDailyLife #SkinProtectOceanRespect #EauThermaleAvene #SoothingByNature
