Quick and easy jig/removable addition to your speed square. If you have a lot of cross cuts to make with the circular saw, it's a good thing to use your speed square to make the cut straight. Nothing new so far. But it's a bit of fiddeling before you can aling the cut with the mark on your work piece, because of the width of the circular saw.



By adding this (recycled hardwood piece) to the speed square, it's super easy to aling the cut to your mark.


This is not my idea, and I take no credit. I saw it on a picture somewhere a long time ago, and I didn't have a speed square until recently. I wanted to try it out, and it's a real time saver.


Also - the great Izzy Swan makes an entire jig in wood for this and thats great too, if you don't have a speed square or dont want to drill holes in yours.


The holes I drilled, doesn't affect the speed square, and its easy to take the piece away.


Two things I do - off camera is to sand the wooden piece, and to cut off the left side (to make it aligned with the speed square). This is a great jig for work sites, carpentry/carpenters and DIY folks. 😊🛠👍
