This webinar, from IFIC Scotland, was part of Scotland’s Self Management Week 2024 (23-26 September) - a week of events themed around ‘Journeys’ and hosted by the ALLIANCE.
The webinar brought together international speakers who shared their self management experiences and examples of what is working well in practice from personal journeys of self management of long term conditions, to what it means for healthcare professionals to adapt their practice to support self management and to wider organisational journeys as health and social care services adopt more person-centred ways of working. Participants had the opportunity to discuss and explore common themes that run through self management journeys and reflect on why self management matters.
Self Management Week, the ALLIANCE's annual Self Management Celebration, is a national awareness raising initiative highlighting self management activity across Scotland. Self management refers to a way of living and working that means people living with long term conditions feel more in control of their health and wellbeing. The Self Management Programme has long been an area of partnership working between the ALLIANCE and the Scottish Government, most notably via the Self Management Fund which the ALLIANCE administers on behalf of the Scottish Government.
