My Train Journey from London Paddington to Bristol Temple Meads Part 1. This will undoubtedly be the very last time I travel on the Class 43 HST from London Paddington to Bristol Temple Meads because of the rise of the new fleet of Class 800 and Class 802 IETs rolled into service on the Great Western Main Line (GWML) and it's been electrified as well between London Paddington and Cardiff Central. The Class 800 and Class 802 IETs can operate on both Electricity on the 25kv Overhead Lines and Diesel on the Non Electrified Lines on the Great Western Main Line (GWML) and their acceleration is much quicker to pull out of the station compared to the HST where their acceleration is a little slower.
I've been on the Class 43 HST between Bristol Parkway, Bristol Temple Meads to London Paddington for over 26 years and the Class 43 HST been in service for an amazing 42 years and it's been loved by millions of travellers and been voted Britian's Best Train.
The Class 43 HST have been involved in 3 fatalities in its history:
1997 at Southall
1999 at Ladbroke Grove
2004 at Ufton Nervet (at Colthrop Level Crossing)
The Stations featured in the video include:
London Paddington
West Drayton
Iver
Slough
Maidenhead

Enjoy!
