Works have begun at Lathbury Barracks with the removal of outbuildings for the eventual construction of a sports complex. The facility will cater for football, athletics and swimming, with Gibraltar’s first 52 metre open air swimming pool, as well as one thousand two hundred parking spaces. The Minister for Sport told GBC these enabling works will remove buildings and cars in the area so that contruction of the sports complex can begin.
