I managed the multiyear “The National Alzheimer’s and Dementia Resource Center” partnership with RTI International that resulted in over 40 webinars. I developed a closed-caption option for these events. Thousands of continuing education unites (CEUs) were issued to professionals in the field of aging. Topics ranged from underserved populations living with dementia, stigma towards those living with dementia, social isolation and loneliness, and younger onset Alzheimer’s disease.
Although a wide range of new programs have been developed to support caregivers of people living with dementia over the past two decades, many health and social services organizations have not yet incorporated these programs into their offerings. This webinar provides information on how organizations can evaluate new dementia programs and outlines the key areas organizations should assess before implementing new programs and services. During this webinar, participants will also learn about a new online tool called Best Practice Caregiving that provides detailed information about proven programs for dementia caregivers.
