She chose an elegant ensemble by a Spanish brand to sponsor a photography contest.
The youngest daughter of the Spanish royals has already started her Christmas vacation, as classes ended on Wednesday at UWC Atlantic College in Wales, where she is studying the second year of the International Baccalaureate. Now, Infanta Sofía is in Madrid to spend the holidays with her family. However, before fully embracing the festivities, shea faced one of her most important challenges: her first public event on her own.
The 17-year-old presided over the awards ceremony for the 'Objetivo Patrimonio. Concurso de Fotografía Infanta Sofía' on December 13, marking her debut in a solo official engagement without the presence of her parents or her sister, Princess Leonor.
The last official event where we saw her was the Princess of Asturias Awards, where she shared that her studies abroad were going "very well." On that occasion, she surprised many with a combination of palazzo pants, a black top, and a metallic jacket. Now, she has once again shone with her unique style at this photography competition, which began at 5:00 PM in the Gallery of the Royal Collections.
This marks the first time we’ve seen Infanta Sofía opt for a monochromatic tailored look, presenting a more formal and mature image while maintaining her youthful style.
The royal chose a creamy white suit from the Woman by El Corte Inglés brand, a two-piece set featuring slightly wide-leg trousers and a double-breasted blazer with four black buttons, wide peak lapels, and dart details. The fitted design, with subtle shoulder pads from the Limited collection, is priced at 210 euros.
To complete the outfit, the heir's younger sister wore a simple black T-shirt under the suit, matching the blazer's buttons and the low-heeled shoes that rounded off her ensemble. These pointed flats, resembling ballerinas but with a practical square and metallic heel, showcased her preference for comfort, often reflected in her footwear choices.
A Nod to Her Sister and Queen Letizia
It’s impossible not to draw a connection between the look chosen by the youngest royal for her first solo event and some of the recent outfits of her sister and mother. The white suit is reminiscent of the symbolic outfit Princess Leonor wore during her Constitution swearing-in ceremony last year. On that occasion, Leonor donned a custom-made design by Sastrería Serna, King Felipe VI's favorite tailor for his military uniforms.
Equally unforgettable is the iconic white Armani suit Queen Letizia wore to announce her engagement in 2003, which seems to have influenced her daughters' wardrobes. The Queen has often revisited similar creations, most recently dazzling in a white satin-lapelled suit during her visit to Rome just a few days ago.
