SHARJAH - KHOR FAKKAN ROAD

SHARJAH, H.H. Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, and H.H. Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah, in the presence of H.H. Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Sharjah inaugurated the new Sharjah – Khor Fakkan roads and tunnels which have reduced the travel time between the two cities from 90 minutes to 45 minutes.

The AED 6-billion project, which includes five tunnels, restored historic forts and landmarks, will have a far-reaching impact on the coastal town, known as The Bride of the Eastern Coast.

The most important of its kind, the new the 89-kilometre road runs from the Emirates Road in Sharjah to Wadi Shi in Khor Fakkan. The modern road network marks a new phase in the development of the infrastructure and tourist facilities in the East Coast city.
