This week we are looking at the performance of our DIY off grid solar power system over winter in the uk. Using Victron Energy’s VRM, we look at how much power we generated and what we consumed. We also talk about the amount we relied on our generator for back up.
If you are new to our channel, we are a young family living off grid in a woodland that we grew from scratch. We collect and filter rainwater for drinking etc and have a solar power system which we installed in the summer of 2021. This year, we are looking to improve our self-sufficiency further by growing more of our own food using our poly-tunnel, and by continuing to develop our woodland into a food forest.
