The iron lady of Manipur- Irom Sharmila was granted bail today as she formally announced the end of her 16 year long hunger strike against the Armed Forces Special Powers Act or AFSPA. Irom told reporters that she will contest Manipur elections as an independent candidate next year as the government failed to address her demands.
