Bobby Fischer played the final game of the candidates match against Petrosian today exactly 49 years ago. He was the first player the ever beat Petrosian 4 games in a row and he went on as we know to become the World Champion and an icon in Chess.
It is also today that we have the US Championship starting. Lets hope we will have another icon like Fischer from that event.
