ACCIONA, a pioneering company in sustainable solutions and a global leader in renewable energies and infrastructure, celebrates the successful expedition of the ACCIONA Windpowered Antarctica to the Geographic South Pole. This accomplishment coincides with the centenary of the landmark's discovery by Scott and Amundsen in 1912. Led by Ramón Larramendi, the team reached the Geographic South Pole via the world's first zero-emission, wind-propelled, kite-drawn sled. A kite surface area of up to 80 square meters allowed the team to complete its mission sustainably and in good time. Throughout the 34-day, 3,500km journey, the team conducted three scientific experiments and battled extreme conditions.
